a quick post

Below is a poem I found on facebook. That to me says to societies view what Christmas is to them. It is so sad how society commercializes Christmas. I really like the poem its perfect.

~ The Week Before Christmas Poem 'Twas the week before Christmas, and all through the town, Not a sign of Baby Jesus, was anywhere to be found. The people were all busy with Christmas time chores, Like decorating, and baking, and shopping in stores. No one sang, "Away in a manger, no crib for a bed." Instead, they sang of Santa, dressed up in bright red. Mama watched Martha Stewart, Papa drank from a tap. As hour upon hour the presents they'd wrap. Then what from the TV did they suddenly hear? An ad, which told of a big sale down at Sears. So away to the mall they all flew like a flash, Buying some things on credit, and others with cash! And, as they made their way home from their trip to the mall, Did they think about Jesus? Oh, no, not at all. Their lives were so busy with their Christmas time things, They had no time to remember Christ Jesus, the King. There were presents to wrap and cookies to bake. How could they stop and remember the One who died for their sake? To pray to the Savior, they had no time to stop. Because they needed more time to "Shop till they drop!" On Wal-mart! On K-mart! On Target! On Penney's! On Hallmark! On Zales! A quick lunch at Denny's! From the big stores downtown to the stores at the mall, They would dash away, dash away, and visit them all! And up on the roof, there arose such a clatter, As grandpa hung icicle lights, using his brand new step ladder. He hung lights that would flash. He hung lights that would twirl. Yet, he never once prayed, to Jesus, the Light of the World. Christ's eyes--how they twinkle! Christ's Spirit--how merry! Christ's love--how enormous! All of our burdens--He'll carry! ~ So instead of being busy, overworked, and uptight. Let's put CHRIST back in CHRISTmas, and enjoy a good night. *God bless and keep sharing the Good News !!! ~ C4C

30 days of thankfulness days 26-30

To begin I know it is December and I know I am late but I am going to finish the remaining 4 days of this series. So here it goes.

Day26
I am thankful for having three days of rest to get ready for a long 6 straight days of work.  I got to have a really good three day weekend. Enough time to rest and do what I enjoy so I can feel rested enough to have a crazy work week.

Day 27
I am thankful for time to sleep in. My kids are off from school for the rest of the week due to Thanksgiving.  So on that note, I am getting sleep in a little more for a change. To me this is a wonderful thing, because I can be ready for the day. It may not be sleeping until 10 or 11 but it is enough for me to feel rested and relaxed.

Day 28
I am thankful for a cheat week. Today is Thanksgiving and it is also my youngest daughter's birthday. To me this is the perfect time to have a cheat week. MMMM turkey, stuffing, all the yummy Thanksgiving foods and this year birthday cake and cupcakes. The downer I have to work, but on that same note, I got to have time and a half for working it so it makes it MUCH better. Besides, I had two people saving me a plate which makes it much better. I also got birthday party pics and bday cupcakes. All of which, which made today so awesome in a way.

Day 29
Today I am thankful for thanksgiving leftovers. Yes, leftovers. A friend of mine brought me some amazing left overs. Stuffed mushrooms and deviled eggs. She was not able to bring me left overs to work so she brought them the next day. They were really good and I asked for more lol. I have not had stuffed mushrooms in a LONG time. Those mushrooms hit the spot and felt good to eat. It was a really good way to get something to eat before work. Those along with other left overs. They were really good.

Day 30
For the final day of this series I would like to say that I am thankful for good friends and being two days closer to a day off. I had to work today, and needed a ride to work. Well I asked a friend of mine if she would be able to give me a ride to work today and Sunday. Well thankfully she was able to. One reason I am thankful is that she brought me lunch for both day that she brought me to work. They were really good. Thanksgiving meal left overs on Saturday which was just amazing. And a tasty leftover turkey sandwich. She is just a wonderful friend I think and for that I am really thankful for her. I am also thankful for being two days closer to a day off. As this long week winds down, it gets closer for me to have and actual day off for the first time in a while. I am getting tired and really thankful that its closer to Monday in which I am off work that and even a day of rest is a LOT better then not getting any rest. For that I am really thankful.

As a conclusion I have a lot to be thankful for this past month, and some of which is not posted but just so very much to be grateful that God has blessed me with. He has continued to bless me with. So thank you God for giving me so thank you God for everything you have blessed me with.
